Photographer Biography: Alessandro Vincenzi

Biography »

Born in Bologna, Italy in 1973, I got into professional photography quite late. After a degree in biology at the University of Bologna and a specialization in tropical medicine, I joined Medecins Sans Forntieres (MSF), a humanitarian aid agency, in 2005. During my free time on missions with MSF as a biologist, I took pictures of patients and other people in distress in various contexts and countries. As the second prize winner of a photography contest, I attended a workshop in 2006, organized by the Toscana Photographic Workshop and held by Antonin Kratochvil (VII Photo Agency). In the same year I won the National Prize of One Vision European Competition with “Looking Forward”. At the beginning of 2008 I decided to become a full time professional photographer and to leave MSF. I'm based in Madrid, Spain and since October 2008 I joined PkPosse, an Italian based agency linked with Prospekt.
