Photographer Biography: Emmanuel Fradin

Biography »

Since 2007 Emmanuel is Freelance and based in Paris. Emmanuel is regularly published in Time Magazine, Stern, Newsweek, I.H.T., The Times, Libération, Le Monde, as well as many others. Emmanuel was born in 1977 in Saumur (Loire Valley) Divided between his two passion, music and photography, he chooses the second as a career. At the time of his military service in 1997 he went to Paris to join the Etablissement Cinematographique et Photographique des Armées. This post led him to work for the First Minister of the government. After his service and his outstanding work he became the official photographer of the Prime minister at the time, Lionel Jospin ; For four years he continued to follow him in all his national and international trips. In this way he was confronted with a wide variety of situations and subjects, giving him a rich experience ; The end of Jospin’s mandate marked the end of Emmanuel’s career in the administration. In 2001 he joined the Imapress agency. Here he covered French political life as well as society stories. Wanting to better appreciate different photographic activities he tried out being a paparazzi photographer with the Angeli agency. So it is with a certain knowledge of the professional sector that he decided to become independent in 2004. He worked directly with Reuters for two years and with A.P : He made use of his experience to cover news subjects in the various fields as varied as politics, sports and fashion in a personnal way. For example he started his freelance career by going to Chernobyl. At the end of this path he became independent and now works with magazines and newspapers in France and abroad. For exemple he covered the French Presidential election for the German magazine Stern. He has recently covered subjects on anorexia and immigration and Davos Event for Time Magazine. Others: French Presidential Campain nominated by Stern for Tops China Festival Exposition Selected as a Rising Star of Photography (Class of 2008). Emmanuel Fradin is a nominee in the photojournalism catgeory for his work on anorexia for the 3rd Annual Photography Masters Cup Awards.
