Biography »

My name is Iakovos Hatzistavrou and I am a professional photographer and photojournalist working in Athens since 1987, working on Features stories and Documentary as a free lancer, covering outside the Greek, the Balkan and Middle East area, traveling all over the world for my assignments. In my archive you can find many of features stories from Greece and other countries. During the last ten years I specialize in Human interest photography, doing Features stories focusing in every day human life and the most of the times under difficult circumstances. My collaborations include major Greek and international daily newspapers, magazines and weekly magazines as well as governmental agencies and freelancing work. My work have been widely published in Greece and abroad. e.g. for three years of the Greek edition of National Geographic magazine and Traveler, Le Monde, The Times, Newsweek, The Independent, Vimagkazino, Epsilon, Kapa and others � Member of EFE (Greek Union of Photojournalists) � Member of SPELEO (Hellenic Speleological & Exploration Club) � Scuba photography (SDI-TDI) � Paragliding � Rescuer-Samaritian of Hellenic Red Cross A/M: 4302/22/05 � Member of Rescue Team of Ilias � PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support) � BLS (Breathing Life Support) I also work on scuba photography.
