Photographer Biography: Victor Luengo Del Ama
Biography »
Born in Zaragoza, Spain, in 1973, started his carrier as painter after while studying an MA in Fine Arts in Madrid and a postgraduate course in Kassel, Germany. In 2004 studies an MA in Photography in London. His work is more related with conceptual discourses rather than social matters. A year later started working in Contacto, a journalism photo agency, partner of Magnum and VIIPhotos agency among others. At the same time began working as photographer for Contacto, Radial and Europa Press in Madrid and decide to become more engaged with social photojournalism. In 2008 went to Madagascar to make the promo videos and photos for aguadecoco foundation and Media Resources in Antananarivo. In the meanwhile traveled around the country to report the everydayness of the Malgaches in works like Mikea’s life in the east Madagascar Children’s labour, vulnerability of women and the the sapphire business in the region of Ihosy Valley.
From 2009 became Freelance and get involved in different projects with several NGO. Besides went to Cambodia to do a personal work. Currently he is preparing himself for a long travel to work for the NGO Educacion sin Fronteras and to report the life conditions of small communities in south Peru and Bolivia.Publications »
